Here is our exclusive Q&A with Sterling, make sure to check out the rest of our chat after the jump!

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I like hanging out with my friends and watch movies.  I’m a big sports fan, so football and basketball and hockey.  Or my favorite, tennis.  I’m a big tennis fan as well.

Do you watch soccer? Do you follow any teams or anything?
I do. Obviously I follow U.S.A. teams.  And we’ve got the World Cup coming up, which is exciting. I’m trying to become a fan of Chelsea or Liverpool.  I can’t decide which one…

Is this the first musical role that you’ve had to perform?
No, I was in musical theater when I was a kid.  I was in “Bye Bye Birdie,” but this is my first musical role in a movie.

And what was it like having to sing and perform for “StarStruck”?
It was crazy, especially coming in so late in the process.  I really had to buckle down and get to work especially because the character I’m playing has been doing it his entire life, so I really need to look like I’ve been doing it my entire life.

How was the atmosphere on the set, and did you and the cast have a lot of fun shooting it?
The atmosphere was very fun and very light-hearted but professional at the same time.  We were lucky enough that everyone really enjoyed doing the work and had fun while we were doing the work.  It made life a whole lot easier.

Where would you love to travel to?
I’d really love to travel to Japan!

If you had a chance to visit Japan, is there anything that you’d like to eat or try?
Everything.  I mean, clearly I’m a fan of weird food.Starstruck_Beauty_1

Do you eat a lot of sushi?
I love sushi, yeah.  And if I could have authentic Japanese sushi, I’d be in heaven. I really like yellowtail. I really like tuna and salmon.  I’m a fan of octopus.

How do you feel about “StarStruck” airing abroad?
I’m excited.  The more people that get to see it, the more chance I have to kind of prove myself in other roles.  Also, if it presents the opportunity to travel abroad and go to some of these places, that’s even better.

What’s your favorite food?
Ooh.  Actually, it’s escargot. It’s such a special occasion for you to find it.  It’s expensive and hard-to-find; it’s a delicacy that I appreciate.
